At Mood Meter, your privacy is our non-negotiable priority. We believe your emotional data is the most personal information you have, and it should remain entirely within your control. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Mood Meter mobile application (the "App").

• Zero Data Monetization: We do not, and will never, sell your personal data.
• Self-Custody: Wherever possible, your data stays on your device.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

When you use Mood Meter, you may choose to provide:

• Mood entries, feelings, and journal reflections.
• Custom mood labels, activities, and tags.
• Optional profile settings (e.g., nicknames, notification preferences).

Automatically Collected Information

Unlike most applications, Mood Meter does not collect or transmit any automated technical data to external servers. We do not track your IP address, device ID, or usage patterns through any third-party analytics services.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect to:

• Provide visual analytics and emotional insights.
• Maintain app stability and security.
• Understand usage patterns to prioritize new feature development.
• Send setup reminders if enabled by you.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your mood entries, journal notes, and all other personal information are stored exclusively on your device. We do not maintain any cloud databases or central servers where your data is stored.

Since your data remains on your device, its security depends on your device's own protection (such as passcodes or biometric locks). We do not have access to your data and cannot recover it if you lose your device or delete the app.

5. No Third-Party Services

Mood Meter is designed to be a standalone tool. We do not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or marketing services such as Google Firebase, Sentry, or Facebook SDK. Your usage remains entirely private and invisible to us and any third parties.

6. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Regardless of your location, we respect your rights to:

• Access: Export your data from the app at any time.
• Correction: Modify any entry within the app interface.
• Deletion: Wipe all your data instantly using the "Delete All Data" feature.
• Withdrawal: Stop providing data by simply uninstalling the app.

7. Data Retention

Because we do not collect your data on our servers, data retention is managed entirely by you. All data is retained on your device for as long as the App is installed. Deleting the App will permanently remove all associated mood data from your device.

8. Children's Privacy

Mood Meter is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us for immediate removal.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as we add new features or as laws change. We will notify you of any significant changes via in-app notifications or by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
